Materials: Worsted weight yarn  approximately 16 oz. total. 8 oz of  Main color and 8 oz of assorted colors for stripes.

Size 8 knitting needles

With Main Color, cast on 50 stitches. Knit across row to the last 3 stitches;  bring thread forward as if to purl, and slip the last 3 stitches purlwise. TREAT  THE LAST 3 STITCHES OF EACH ROW IN THIS MANNER.

Work 24 rows of Main colorbreak off yarn, leaving a 6-inch length.

***** Start the next row with stripe color: Knit 3, *knit 2 together across  the row (22 times) until you reach the last 3 stitches, where you follow the  border routine.

On the return row; Knit 3, Knit 1, knit the bar of the new color thread that  lies between that stitch and the next stitch (22 times) until you reach the last  3 stitches (border).

Knit 4 more rows with this color, break off. Join next color and repeat from  the *****. Stripe as you wish  being sure to insert some of the main  color between stripes of odds and ends. Enjoy.

TO BE OF REAL USE, A SCARF SHOULD BE THE SAME LENGTH AS THE HEIGHTH OF THE  WEARER.

ENJOY!

POTHOLDER TO CROCHET

1 Skein of Sugar and Cream cotton yarn

Size F or G crochet hook

Chain 36 stitches. Single crochet in second chain from hook and in each chain  to end of row. NOWworking on the opposite side of the chain; make 1  single crochet in each stitch of the chain. Continue working one single crochet  in each single crochet around. NOTE: After you have crocheted several rows, the  ends will fold up and look like a canoe.
